The activity was a two-day practical training session designed to re-activate women who have lost either hir son, family and loves ones and survivors of sexual abuse and violence, particularly women, by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to start income-generating activities in the poultry sector. The training covered two main thematic areas:

Micro-Entrepreneurship

Focuses on the management of small individual income-generating activities. Topics included:

• Elaboration of business plans: helping participants create detailed plans for their poultry-related businesses.
• Business risk management: Equipping participants with skills to identify and manage risks in their ventures.
• Finance: covering financial aspects, including budgeting and financial management.
• Description of local financial institutions and their functioning: Providing insights into local financial resources.
• The concept of credit or debit: educating participants on financial transactions and credit management.
• Ways of repaying a loan: Offering guidance on loan repayment strategies.

Poultry Production and Management

Aims to provide comprehensive knowledge for effective poultry farming. Subtopics included:

• Feed and Feeding (Feed, Water, and Vitamin Supplements): Covering essential aspects of poultry nutrition.
• Health (biosecurity, vaccination, isolation of sick birds, and disposal of dead birds): focusing on maintaining the health of the poultry.
• Housing (preparation of the chicken house): Guidelines on constructing and maintaining suitable housing for poultry.
• Waste Management (Chicken Manure Management): Strategies for managing poultry waste.
• Marketing (general management to minimize losses, egg collection and handling, selling products): covering marketing aspects and product management.
• Product quality and safety: emphasizing the importance of producing high-quality and safe poultry products
