Each year 4YBIN in the Netherlands initiates a Christmas campaign targeting a special group. This years campaign was about:

I’m Eva van Dorrestein, and as a 20-year-old law student, I want to make a difference this Christmas season. The 4YBIN foundation, of which my grandfather is a driving force, offers me a wonderful opportunity to do so. By making unique Christmas candles, I want to bring light: to your home, with the candle you receive thanks to your donation, and to a girl who desperately needs your support. With the proceeds from this campaign, we directly contribute to the lives of girls in Tigray, Ethiopia, who face enormous challenges and risks every day.

The idea that a single hygiene kit can truly make a difference, that it can make a girl feel safe, cared for, and supported, touches me deeply. My law studies teach me about justice and human rights, and this campaign shows me how we can make a concrete contribution to these issues in practice.

Moreover, this campaign resonates with me personally as a 20-year-old young adult woman; it makes me aware of the challenges girls in other parts of the world face every day and motivates me to make a concrete contribution. By contributing to this campaign, I hope to not only support the girls themselves but also raise awareness about the vulnerability and resilience of young women in conflict zones.

Each kit contains essential hygiene products like sustainable sanitary pads, soap, and a towel that will help protect her health, safety, and self-esteem. Thanks to your support, girls in displaced areas feel cared for, seen, and empowered this holiday season.
